Build
Water treatment infrastructure is among the most regulated construction in the industry — every material, every joint, and every process must meet Drinking Water Inspectorate approval requirements. We build treatment works and service reservoirs to the watertight concrete standards of BS 8007, with internal finishes and materials selected from the DWI approved materials register.
Maintaining supply continuity during construction and upgrade works requires careful sequencing — temporary bypass connections, phased commissioning, and rigorous disinfection procedures before new infrastructure is brought into potable service. Our teams are experienced in delivering this complex sequencing without interrupting the supply of safe drinking water to customers.

Building for Potable Water
The Drinking Water Inspectorate enforces the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations, which set the standards that water companies must meet before new infrastructure can be put into potable service. Every material in contact with drinking water must appear on the DWI approved materials register — from concrete admixtures and coatings to pipe materials, gaskets, and lubricants. We manage that compliance systematically, maintaining material records and providing the evidence trail DWI inspectors require.
Service reservoirs must be constructed to BS 8007 water-retaining structure standards — with structural design that prevents cracking, watertight construction details, and a hydraulic test before commissioning. We build covered service reservoirs that pass their hydraulic test first time and meet the hygienic internal specification that potable water storage demands.
