A caravan or motorhome is a living space on wheels — it needs both vehicle maintenance and habitation servicing. We carry out annual habitation checks, gas system inspections, leisure electrical work, and chassis maintenance, keeping your touring vehicle safe and reliable year after year.

The Road
Caravans and motorhomes sit unused for months at a time between trips — and that dormancy creates its own set of problems. Seals shrink, batteries discharge, gas hoses age, and damp ingress begins silently behind panels. An annual habitation service, ideally before the start of the touring season, catches these issues before they become expensive failures on site.
We carry out habitation services in line with NCC Approved Workshop scheme standards, covering damp inspection, gas certification to BS EN 1949, 12V and 230V electrical checks, water system flush, and chassis inspection. Every service is documented and a copy provided to the owner for insurance and warranty purposes.

What We Deliver
Habitation Service
Annual habitation check covering damp inspection, gas system, 12V and 230V electrics, water system, heating, ventilation, and all fixtures — carried out to NCC Approved Workshop standards.
Chassis & Brakes
Caravan hitch and coupling inspection, overrun brake adjustment, wheel bearing check, jockey wheel and corner steady service — with road test before handover.
Leisure Battery & Electrical
Leisure battery capacity test and replacement, solar panel output check, converter and charger diagnosis, and 12V circuit fault-finding — including mains hookup and RCD testing.
Gas System Inspection
Gas system inspection to BS EN 1949 — checking regulators, flexible hoses, appliance connections, ventilation, and gas detector function. Certificate issued on satisfactory completion.
Our Process
Habitation Service In Four Stages
Damp Check
Moisture meter readings taken at all roof joints, window frames, floor edges, and rear panel — damp map recorded and compared to previous inspection.
Gas & Heating
Gas pressure test, burner inspection, flue and ventilation checks — all appliances tested for safe operation. Gas certificate issued.
Electrics
Leisure battery load test, solar input check, 12V circuit verification, mains hookup RCD test, and all 230V outlets checked.
Chassis
Hitch, coupling, and breakaway cable inspected. Overrun brake tested and adjusted. Wheel bearings checked. Tyres, pressures, and age assessed.
