Trailers are often the most neglected part of a commercial fleet — yet a defective trailer is as likely to generate a prohibition notice as a defective truck. We carry out annual inspections, brake tests, lighting repairs, and structural work on trailers from small car-tow units to 13.6-metre curtainsiders.

Trailers attached to HGVs fall under the same operator licence obligations as the towing vehicle. The Traffic Commissioner expects trailer maintenance records to be maintained to the same standard as those for the truck — and a defective trailer discovered at a roadside check is a serious O Licence matter regardless of the truck's condition.
We include trailers within our fleet maintenance programmes as standard — or carry out standalone inspections and repairs for operators who maintain their trucks elsewhere. Every trailer receives a written inspection report, defects are prioritised in line with DVSA classification, and brake testing is completed before the trailer returns to service.

Brake System Service
Air brake and hydraulic overrun brake inspection, brake chamber replacement, automatic slack adjuster service, and roller brake testing to DVSA standards.
Lighting & Electrical
Rear light cluster replacement, marker lighting, ABS sensor diagnostics, and trailer plug/socket inspection — tested against the towing vehicle before handover.
Structural Repairs
Chassis crack inspection and repair, fifth wheel and kingpin wear assessment, landing leg service, and body panel repairs to maintain structural integrity and weatherproofing.
