Operators of HGVs and PSVs in the UK have a legal duty to maintain their vehicles in a roadworthy condition — and to demonstrate that maintenance through records retained in the format specified by the DVSA. A single prohibition notice or serious maintenance failure can result in loss of operator licence, ending your ability to operate commercially.
Our HGV maintenance service is built around that compliance obligation. Every 6-weekly preventive maintenance inspection generates a written record in the correct format. Every defect is documented, prioritised, and resolved before the vehicle returns to service. Records are retained for 15 months and made available for any Traffic Commissioner audit.

Diesel engine overhaul, DPF regeneration and replacement, gearbox and axle repairs — using manufacturer data and diagnostic equipment compatible with Euro 5 and Euro 6 systems.
Brake System Inspection
Roller brake testing, air brake system inspection, ABS module diagnostics, and slack adjuster replacement — to DVSA brake performance standards for HGVs and PSVs.

Inspection
Full 6-weekly safety inspection against DVSA checklist — brakes, steering, tyres, lights, bodywork, and all safety-critical systems documented.
Defect Report
Written defect report issued immediately, categorised as immediate (S), major (M), or advisory — with repair quotation and prioritised booking.
Repair
Defects rectified to manufacturer specification using the correct parts — with brake roller test and lighting check completed before sign-off.
Compliance Record
PMI record updated and retained for 15 months in the format required by the Traffic Commissioner — available for roadside inspection or annual licence review.
